I thoroughly enjoy being a technician, but a lot of times I would like to take control of the department and have that manager type of authority as well – managing a team, responsible for a budget and project planning roadmaps, resolving team issues, etc. The age-old problem with that is, we do what we’re comfortable doing and there’s physically not enough hours in the day to be a successful technician and manager.
