Well that figures! I'm still on JRE 6 Update 7. Do you know what the error is exactly? I'd like to post it up here.

Unfortunately the trend continues with ASDM. The newest version of JRE 6 (update 12) does not work and you have to revert to no later than JRE6u7 in order to access the interface. Cisco is notoriously bad with this, and I have gotten no where speaking to TAC about it at Cisco.

Alas, this capability is not Free. But may be worth the investment depending on the number of users that carry mobile devices that require remote support.

I had some issues with this numara track-it and their support was unable to solve this.
Now we switched to another solution - scriptlogic's helpdesk and fully satisfied with everything.
It was much easier to imlement and the interface is much more friendly.
As for functionality - it's quite rich and includes some great features that I was unable to find in track-it.

GOT IT! Basically the problem was routing the VPN traffic that terminates on the outside interface, back out the same interface and across the IPSec VPN tunnel to the remote office. All that was needed (after the configs above) was:

!
!
same-security-traffic permit intra-interface
